UPDATE 8: August 10th, 2021.

We’re still doing our part.

Even though 50% of all Americans are now fully vaccinated, we still need to continue to do our part to further limit the spread and keep everyone safe while we’re in your home. In order to keep everyone protected and healthy, we are still doing the following:

1). We are routinely cleaning our office, and our company vehicles, with Clorox disinfectant wipes every day.

2.) We have a steady supply of gloves and surgical face masks that we are providing to all of our cleaning crews and office staff. These face masks and gloves must be worn by all of our staff at each of our clients homes. No exceptions. Vaccinated individuals are also required to wear face masks in each of our clients homes as well.

3.) All of our teams are equipped with hand sanitizer and disinfectant so they may clean their hands before they enter, and after they leave each home.

4.) We are still encouraging all of our clients to keep a social distance while our teams are in their homes. This could mean going out for a walk, or taking a drive around town. If you are unable to go outside, we encourage you to isolate in a room until the cleaners leave. If that is also not possible, we are encouraging our clients to wear facial coverings while our staff is in their home. We may reserve the right to refuse a home cleaning if our cleaning crews feel that proper social distancing guidelines are not being followed by our clients. This is to ensure your safety as well as the safety of our teams

5.) While we’ve all thankfully remained in good health throughout both 2020 and 2021, we are actively encouraging all of our cleaning and office crews to stay home if they begin to feel unwell.

UPDATE 7: March 11th, 2021

One year later, we're still taking it as seriously as we did on Day 1.

Since Day 1, all of us at Ana’s Cleaning Services have been taking the COVID pandemic seriously and have been using every resource available to us to keep our clients and cleaners safe. It’s with great pride that we can say that we are continuing to take things as serious as we did during Day 1, and will continue to do so for as long as necessary. With Personal Protective Equipment being easier to find, we have been able to continuously provide fresh pairs of masks to all of our professional home cleaners, alongside a fresh pair of gloves for every home they visit. We are also screening all of our home cleaners with touch-less temperature checks when they come in the morning to our office, and encouraging anyone who feels unwell, for any reason at all, to take as much time as they need off. We are also sanitizing our cleaning equipment and company vehicles as soon as they return to our office. These policies have proven quite effective, as all of our staff have been in great health and positive spirits since Day 1.

We wish to thank every single one of our clients for their cooperation and understanding during these times. Thankfully every single one of our clients has put the safety of our professional home cleaners first and foremost, and have been able to social distance while the teams are working in their homes. Some of our clients have even been so kind as to provide our professional home cleaners with additional masks and hand sanitizers to take with them.

We also wish to extend our sincerest gratitude and appreciation to all of our clients who have placed their services on hold since the pandemic started and have continued to make steady donations throughout all this time. Your support has helped us ensure we can continue to take care of all of our staff and their families. Your generosity truly means the world to all of us at Ana’s Cleaning, and it is through your efforts that we can proudly say that every single one of our professional home cleaners have continued safely working with us throughout the entirety of the pandemic. In addition, we have even been able to continue hiring and expanding our teams to continue providing more jobs to as many people as possible during these uncertain times.

We hope that this pandemic will eventually be placed completely under control and we can all return to a new normal. With vaccine hopes on the horizon, we’re all ready to place Covid in the rear view mirror. However, until that day becomes a reality—let’s all continue to do our part to keep each other safe and healthy and make it to the new year in good health, and positive spirits.

Sincerely,

The Ana’s Cleaning Team

UPDATE 6: May 7th, 2020

Our updated company policies to ensure we keep our staff and clients safe.

1.) We are actively cleaning our office and our company vehicles with Clorox disinfectant wipes every day as soon as every team arrives from their last home on their route.

2. Due to general nationwide shortages of PPE, we are following the same protocols as all hospitals in providing one new pair of surgical face masks to our staff every day. These face masks must be worn by all staff while they are at the office, while they are in the car, and while they are in each clients home. No exceptions. We have also provided reusable cloth facial coverings in the event that we run out of surgical masks and are unable to purchase more due to continued shortages.

3.) New, fresh pairs of gloves are being provided every day to our staff when they arrive to our office. They must wear a new pair of gloves in each home they visit and the gloves must be put on prior to them entering the home.

4.) We have provided all of our teams with hand sanitizer and disinfectant so they may clean their hands before they enter, and after they leave each home.

5.) We are actively encouraging all of our clients to social distance when our teams arrive to clean the home. This could mean going out for a walk, or taking a drive around town while the cleaners are at their home. If you are unable to go outside, we encourage you to isolate in a room until the cleaners leave. If that is also not possible, we are encouraging our clients to wear facial coverings while our staff is in the home. We may reserve the right to refuse a home cleaning if our staff feels that proper social distancing guidelines are not being followed by our clients. This is to ensure your safety as well as the safety of our teams.

6.) We are encouraging all of our staff to stay at home if they do not feel comfortable continuing to clean while the pandemic continues, or if they begin to feel unwell. We are using 100% of all donations made by our clients to ensure that all of our staff's needs are met during these uncertain times. Thanks to your generous and thoughtful donations we have been able to purchase hundreds of dollars of non-perishable goods for all of our staff. We will also be setting up a fund to provide additional compensation to our staff within the next few days.

Thank you all for your continued support. We hope everyone is able to return to normalcy as soon as possible and we hope everyone continues to stay safe, healthy and happy during these difficult times.

UPDATE 4: April 13th, 2020

Residential Cleaning Services are temporarily Suspended. Commercial and Move in/ Move Out Cleanings are still available.

As the infection rate of COVID-19 continues to rise exponentially across North Carolina, as well as the entire nation, we have decided to temporarily suspend our residential cleaning services, starting on Monday, April 13th. We want to ensure that we can keep our staff and their families safe during these uncertain times, and keep them at home to help limit the spread of this virus. We also want to ensure that we keep all of our clients, such as yourself, safe as well.

As of right now, we will plan to reopen our services on April 30th, if the stay at home order is lifted and things begin to normalize. We may decide to extend or shorten this temporary suspension as more information becomes available.

We will still be offering cleaning services to our commercial clients to continue providing support to their essential businesses as they continue to operate. We will also still provide move-out/move-in cleaning services, so long as the property is empty and there is no one present while the teams are cleaning.

I want to thank you all so much for your continued support and for your continuous donations to continue supporting our company and all of our staff. It truly means the world to us. We can’t wait to get back to cleaning all of your homes as soon as this pandemic begins to pass and we return to normalcy.

Please continue to stay safe and healthy!

UPDATE 3: March 30th, 2020

It’s official: Residential & Commercial Cleaning Services are declared essential.

In a previous post, we mentioned that we reached out to the City of Durham as well as to the department of Homeland Security. This weekend, we finally received an official response. This is what was said:

“Yes, your residential and commercial cleaning business can continue to operate.

Businesses that perform "critical services" are not required to cease operations.  "Cleaning and janitorial staff for commercial and governmental properties" are "critical services" under section 3, paragraph E.2.i. of the City of Durham's March 25, 2020, Stay at Home Order.  Therefore, such cleaning and janitorial staff are not required to cease operations.

Also, the stay-at-home provisions of the Stay at Home Order do not apply to "essential activities."   "Essential activities" include "necessary services."  A residential cleaning service is probably a "necessary service" within the meaning of section 3, paragraph C.2. of the Stay at Home Order.  Consequently, the stay-at-home provisions probably do not apply to a residential cleaning service.

All people working for businesses must adhere to the social distancing requirement in section 3, paragraph D of the Stay at Home Order.  The requirement is that people reasonably comply with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's recommendation to maintain at least a six-foot distance between themselves and other individuals.”

This means that we are able to continue providing cleaning services to both our commercial clients and to all of our residential clients as well. We’re still adhering to all of the guidelines set forth by the CDC and our local and state governments, as well as our own guidelines to ensure both our cleaning professionals and clients are protected.

We will continue providing updates as more information becomes available or if orders to stay home become stricter and limit our ability to continue providing services. In the meantime, if you are interested in a home cleaning service, the quickest way to do so is by visiting our website at www.anascleaningnc.com/contact. It takes less than a minute to fill out our booking form, and you’ll receive a price quote instantly.

We also wanted to send another big thank you to all of our clients who continue postponing their service, but still wish to pay for their cleaning as a donation to our company and to our staff. We are truly touched by your generosity.

As always, please continue to stay safe and healthy!

UPDATE 2: March 26th 2020

Coronavirus Update 2: Mayor of Durham has issued a stay-at-home order, Wake County & Orange County to follow.

On Wednesday, March 25th, Mayor Steve Schewel issued a stay-at-home order for the city of Durham, which will take effect on Thursday, March 26th at 6:00 PM and will extend until April 30th. This order may be extended or shortened, depending on how quickly we can return back to normalcy. We will be keeping a close eye on all statewide and federal reports related to the coronavirus to determine what further actions we need to take.

At this time, it is our understanding that “cleaning/sanitation services” fall into what are considered essential businesses. We have reached out to the city of Durham as well as to the Department of Homeland Security, for further clarification, to make a final determination if we are indeed an essential business, and will be allowed to remain open or closed. Until we hear back from them, we will operate on the assumption that we are allowed to remain open and continue providing services for all those who wish to continue allowing us come to their homes and clean.

We are still following the same health and safety protocols we mentioned before, in which all of our staff are wearing gloves & masks, are using proper disinfectants and are washing their hands frequently between houses. We have also added to our list of requirements that a new pair of disposable shoe covers must also be worn in each home they enter. We are also observing our cleaning professionals to ensure that no one who appears sick is allowed to continue working for the time being. Thankfully, all of our cleaners are still in excellent health and have demonstrated a willingness to continue providing services to all of our clients. Our office staff is also practicing social distancing by working remotely from home.

We want to also take a moment to thank all of our clients who have cancelled and wish to continue paying for their service as a way of donating to keep all of our staff compensated during these uncertain times. All of that donated money will be placed in a fund to ensure that everyone is taken care of in the event that we are required to close for an extended period of time.

We will continue paying close attention to all reports made by the CDC, state governments, and/or the federal governments, and will update you all as soon as we learn more. Everyone, please stay safe and let us all continue to do our part in limiting the spread of this disease

UPDATE 1: March 17th, 2020

Your health & safety are our top priorities

The health and safety of our clients & cleaning professionals are at the forefront of our minds, amid concerns regarding the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). As of right now, all of our teams are thankfully in excellent health, and have not shown any signs or symptoms of illness.

While we are still operating on a regular schedule, we are closely monitoring information from the CDC and federal, state and local agencies to help make sure that we are taking actions that fall in line with the latest CDC recommendations.

All of our cleaning professionals are regularly washing their hands with soap and warm water, before and after they enter and finish cleaning a home, as well as ensuring that they are always wearing gloves in each home they clean. We have also continually encouraged all of our cleaning professionals to stay home if they develop any symptoms or begin to feel unwell (as we have always done in the past).

As an extra precautionary step, we are now requiring all of our staff to wear face masks in each home they visit to limit their potential exposure. We mentioned in a previous update that we would be adding Lysol to our cleaning supplies, but due to nationwide shortages, we will be unable to do so. If anyone has any Lysol in their homes that they would like for us to use, please feel free to leave it out and we’ll instruct our team to give your home a spray down.

We understand everyones desire to quarantine and limit their exposure, so we are also temporarily waiving any last minute cancellation fees as a result of COVID-19. You may notify us that you wish to cancel or postpone your service by sending us an email or text message at anytime. We only ask that you let us know at least a day in advance so we may adjust our routes accordingly, and notify our other clients of any changes to their ETA. We also wanted to take a moment to extend our gratitude to all of our clients who have cancelled, but still wish to pay for their service as a donation to our small business during these uncertain times. 100% of these donations will be placed in a fund to provide monetary compensation to all of our staff in the event that we are required to close by the government for an extended period of time.

We would also like to extend our thanks to all of our clients who went out to grocery stores last week to purchase non-perishable goods, and supplies for all of our staff. It has truly touched every single one of us and we are so very fortunate to have some amazing clients such as you all. Words alone cannot express how gracious we are of your kindness.

If anything changes with our plans to continue providing cleaning services on a regular schedule, we will reach out in advance personally to each of our clients, as well as on social media and our website.

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this disease and we wish the utmost safety to each and everyone of you.
